Easy-to-cook Tomato Rasam

Traditionally originating from the Southern region of India, Tomato Rasam is quite an interesting burst of flavours that also serves as an option for healthy foods.

Instructions

  1. Boil the tomato with 1/2 cup water for 5-10 minutes on a low flame till they become soft. Bring down from the flame.
  2. Add 1 cup water and mash slightly. Do not blend it in a mixer, Strain the tomato puree & keep aside.
  3. Sauté all the rasam powder ingredients on a low flame & after cooling powder it finely. Add salt, jaggery and haldi to tomato puree and boil.
  4. Add rasam powder & hing, cook for 1-2 minutes. Remove it from the flame.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
