Endometriosis / Hyperprolactinemia

The endometrium, layer of tissue that normally covers the inside of the uterus grows outside of it. This health disorder is associated with hormonal and immunological alternations. Endometrial tissue is shed each month during periods.

Causes: Primary cause is unknown. Secondary cause can be due to pelvic inflammatory disease, IBS, fibromyalgia

Symptoms:

  • Irregular or absent periods
  • Milky discharge from the breasts
  • Infertility
  • Decreased libido
  • Headaches
  • Visual changes and bone loss (osteopenia or osteoporosis)
  • Periods lasting longer than 7 days
  • Heavy menstrual bleeding
  • Fatigue
